Innovative Thinking for link exchange…

Every time someone comes up with a good idea, some one ELSE will come up with a way to abuse it. This seems to be the way of the Internet. Remember those days when link exchanges, link farms and all kinds of linking methods helped you get noticed on the Internet? See what I mean? Well, the death of links is much exaggerated. Google never said that you should not link – such discussions abound on the Net (1.9 million to be exact for “link exchange penalty”).

Jean, over at Writer’s Notes has quite an innovative way to spread the link love. She gets a list of folks who visited her and left good comments, and linked back to them. Now, if relevance is important, then this is certainly a relevant method of linking. Things change quickly on the Internet. If you are doing Internet marketing, you have to be constantly on your toes. But then, that’s what makes it all so much fun!

    Hi, Calvin!

Thanks so much for the mention! Wish I could claim credit for the idea of recognizing my commenters each month via a little link love; but I actually got the idea from Mark over at ProBloggers Matrix in his post “How Do You REWARD Your COMMENTERS and Those Who Have BACKLINKED to Your Blog?” (http://www.probloggersmatrix.com/how-do-you-reward-your-commenters-and-those-who-have-backlinked-to-your-blog/)

Just thought I’d give credit where credit is due!

Cool beans, Jean! I guess that is how the world benefits with each sharing information and opinions. Not everyone can be everywhere all the time. So, don’t be shy that your post does have positive impact on your readers (like me!).

    Thanks, Calvin!

It’s definitely true that we do pass on the great ideas we find in different parts of the blogosphere to one another! That’s a big part of what blogging is all about! Glad to have had a positive impact, since that’s my goal!

Thanks for your kind and generous words!
    Jeanne
