Online marketing is challenging. In fact, marketing itself as a discipline is already challenging. But going online adds a whole new dimension of technical requirements that are not found in conventional media. But if you thought deeper into this, it might not be completely true.
For example, in print, you will need to deal with paper types, color correction, print alignment, folding, cutting and a whole host of other stuff which most standard marketing person never encounters. These are taken care of by the color separators, the designers, the printers and an entire chain of operations. Somehow, online, that elaborate support structure is not always there.
Part of the reason is because most online marketing initiatives are run by one or two persons and such small teams do not have the luxury of an elaborate support structure. But it really is not difficult to get online. Almost any cheap hosting plan today from a reputable company will get you there. But as you grow, you will reach a point where you will hear these words: virtual servers. Sounds scary. But again, like most generic hosting, virtual servers are not as scary as say, 3 to 5 years ago. Those days, you really had to be a super tech geek to even think of having one. I looked at this www.vr.org site and their stuff starts at onl $29.95, totally unheard of a few years ago.
You should check out some of their Virtual Server Plans if you are considering a more serious online presence. If you are a serious online marketer, you will find that many web hosting companies limit the types of programs you can run on your web site. Some software take up significant processing power and these web hosts simply will not allow it. Also, by having your own virtual server, you have full control over every aspect of it.
I have used several different web hosts and have had some experience with virtual servers. While the web hosting packages are easier to manage, I can do much more with virtual servers or dedicated servers. Do explore this option rather than to keep on upgrading your hosting plans blindly.
