Off Topic – 5 Things I Dig About Jesus

I checked, most bloggers I know who dig Jesus have been tagged by others… hmmm…. anyway, here’s my 5 things that I dig about Jesus:

1. My Salvation – it is not everyday that some one is willing to die on your behalf and take all the blame. You know, it is even difficult to find someone willing to let you go through a door first…
2. His Friendship – if you have ever tried to be friends with that Poor Little Rich Boy in school, you will know that it is most unusual for someone of such high station to associate with someone like me – a nobody.
3. His Human-ness – Sometimes, it is hard to think of Jesus as a man. But he was the perfect Man. Unlike all the other wannabes, He was truly, The Man. And it is because of that perfect Man that he was, that he can understand me.
4. His Holiness – All my life, I struggle to obey the command to “be Holy as I am Holy…”. So, being an expert failure, I fully dig His ability to achieve this.
5. His Lordship – This one is unusual. Most people would be loath to be under the thumb of a “lord”. But when you are under the direction of an expert, when you know the person leading you is the best of the best of the best, it changes things. Allowing Jesus to be Lord of my life means that I have the Guru of all Gurus, the Man of all men, the King of Kings as my supervisor. The Chinese have a saying “There are no weak soldiers under a Great General”. Well, with Jesus as my Lord, how can I lose?
